Nai
Thon Beach, Phuket
What is commonly known as "Nai Thon
Beach" is actually four small beaches separated by
several small headlands. The southernmost beach is
called HinKuay, the next one heading north is sometimes
called "Nai Torn" (or Nai Thorn) Beach, the next one is
called Nai Thon Noi (little Nai Thon), and the main
beach along Nai Thon Village is Nai Thon beach.

Nai Thon Beach is one of the most
pleasant beaches on the island and the sand is so soft
and powdery that it actually squeaks when you walk on
it. Definitely a tourist area compared to the beaches
to the north - but still very uncrowded compared to the
major tourist zones of Phuket.
Several small restaurants can be
found up and down the beach - and the far south of the
main beach is cove-like with a full-size restaurant
hidden away in the trees.
The Coconut Tree Restaurant - right
in the center of the beach - has an excellent menu with
last year's prices. Try the Masaman Gai (Masaman
Chicken Curry).
Snorkeling is good around the
headlands on the north and south ends of the beach here.
Bring your gear as rental gear is not always of the best
quality.
